AAP says 1 million people have joined party in 24 hours since victory


The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has struck gold with the Delhi assembly elections where Arvind Kejriwal-led party has won a staggering 62 seats and came back to power for the third time. The party said “More than 10 lakh people have joined AAP in a day since the victory.Aam Aadmi Party founded by Arvind Kejriwal in 2012 removed Congress from the Delhi assembly map in the 2015 elections and this time it remains the same.AAP came to power riding the anti-incumbency wave against the previous Sheila Dikshit government of Congress.
This time Arvind Kejriwal led AAP did a stupendous victory yet again in the Delhi Assembly elections in 2020, dealing a body blow to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by PM Modi and Amit Shah.

In the 2020 elections, the 51-year-old bureaucrat-turned-politician almost replicated AAP’s fairytale victory of 2015 (AAP won 67 of 70 seats) by riding on his government’s development agenda, and throughout this process he emerged as a key leader in the national political landscape.AAP has won 62 of the 70 seats with a total vote share of 53.57%.BJP won the remaining eight seats, getting 38.51 per cent of the total votes. The Congress could not even manage to open their account and hence, ended with 4.26 per cent vote share.
